• How well do you PARRC?
How to Plan, Assess, Record, Report and Celebrate the progress of pupils over time – in Primary, Secondary and Special Schools, PRUs
This course is specifically designed for headteachers, deputy headteachers, senior leaders, curriculum and assessment co-ordinators, plus interested governors, LEA staff and inspectors who need to be able to evaluate and improve current PARRCing systems across the curriculum.
Inspections show that assessment recording and reporting still needs major improvement in many schools as do individual education plans. Many schools have initial baseline assessments but several do not have procedures in place to effectively monitor and track pupils' progress over time. This is essential, particularly in the light of the increased emphasis on evaluation and self-assessment as part of Ofsted inspections.
This course will show you:
- How to plan, assess, record, report and celebrate (PARRC) pupils' achievement and progress.
- How to audit and analyse current systems.
- What a teacher is expected to do and what a pupil is expected to have.
- The national framework for recognising attainment.
- How to consider the PARRCing process as a whole and evaluate standards.
- How to map your additional SEN provision and inclusion policy.
All course members will receive a very detailed file containing:
- Training materials used on the day, including overheads to be used afterwards.
- Examples of Planning, Assessment, Recording, Reporting and Celebrating formats.
- Examples of effective IEP formats to adapt and use.
- Examples of how to summarise, present and track the range of pupils attainment levels and progress over time – presenting standards well.
- Examples of exercises to help self-review and evaluate current practice.
- Ideas for how to revisit differentiation in engaging and interesting ways.
- Useful references and contacts.
